Pontesbury Fell Race 3miles 1160’ascent

A total of 125 runners took part in the Pontesbury Fell Race on Wednesday 24th May. It was a drizzly evening and some good mud on the field, but the view from the top was well worth it. 6 club members took part in the event, some seemed to enjoy it more than others! Richard went some way to conquering his fear of stiles, a problem he has had since the Manx Mountain Marathon (don’t ask anymore).
Glenn had a good run considering it was his first fell race since the Manx and managed to come away with a mug for being 3rd MV50. Helen won LV50 category.

It was also good to see 4 members of staff (apart from Robin Sedman Smith) from Adams’ Grammar School take part in this event. I think they all enjoyed it and were talking about competing in other fell races. Their results were –
